Assateague Island October 2023

Troop 19 had an amazing trip to Assateague Island on the DelMarVa peninsula. Highlights of the trip included a beautiful 15-mile bike ride (both for fun and to meet a requirement of the Camping Merit Badge), learning about the area at the Visitors’ Center, a chilly dip in the ocean at sunset, beautiful birds flying overhead, and of course seeing the wild horses everywhere! Scouts also got to practice outdoor skills such as putting up and taking down tents, outdoor cooking, and lots of problem-solving with the canopy (see a Troop 19 Assateague camperfor the full story on this one)!
