Whitewater Rafting Sept 2023
In September 2023 Troop 19 set off for their white water rafting trip! We arrived at our camp site late at night. Everyone put up their tents and ate cookies then went to bed. The next day everyone woke up around 7:00 and started getting to work. Sammy was the Senior Patrol Leader for the rafting trip so she was helping us get ready for white water rafting. We ate eggs in a basket and strawberries then got ready. Before going white water rafting we stopped at the visitors center to look around. It was very cool and we even talked to a park ranger for a while. After that we set off to the rafting place. When we entered we filled out a form and listened to directions. There were a lot of other groups of people there and they all had water guns! Luckily we got a bucket. We got on the water and it wasn’t that cold. We chose who was on each raft by car so that worked well. The first half of the rafting we really just were finding out how to work with our groups and how to use the raft. Then we stopped for lunch and go back on the water. After we finished the rafting we went to a boulder field. The boulder field was super cool and seemed to never end. That night we had a campfire played some games and went to bed. The next morning everyone woke up around 7:00. We ate breakfast then packed up camp and left. Safe to say that the white water rafting trip was a success!
